The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two more separate cases against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, accusing them of abusing their power to secure plots from the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk).

The cases were filed on Tuesday, at the ACC Integrated District Office-1.

ACC Director General Akhtar Hossain confirmed the filing of the cases, with Sajeeb Wazed Joy and Sheikh Hasina named as the key accused in the two cases.

Sheikh Hasina is also named as an accomplice in the case involving her son.

In the case against Hasina, a total of eight individuals, including officials from the Housing and Public Works Ministry and Rajuk, have been implicated.

The complainant is ACC Deputy Director Mohammad Salahuddin.

The accused are Sheikh Hasina, former Rajuk chairman’s PA Anisur Rahman Miah, Senior Assistant Secretary Purabi Goldar, former members Shafiul Haque and Mohammad Khurshid Alam, former estate and land member Mohammad Nasir Uddin, former development member Major (Retd) Shamsuddin Ahmad Chowdhury, and former Rajuk deputy director Nayeb Ali Sharif.

In the case against Sajeeb Wazed Joy, 15 individuals, including his mother Hasina and several officials from Rajuk and the Housing Ministry, have been named as accused.

They are Joy, Hasina, Administrative Officer Saiful Islam Sarkar, Senior Assistant Secretary Purabi Goldar, Additional Secretary (Administration) Kazi Waqiuddin, and Secretary Shahid Ullah Khondkar.

Rajuk officials named in Joy’s case include former chairman’s PA Anisur Rahman Miah, former estate and land member Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Development Control Member Tanmoy Das, former member Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Development Member Major (Retd) Shamsuddin Ahmad Chowdhury, Director Kamrul Islam, Assistant Director Mazharul Islam, Deputy Director Nayeb Ali Sharif, and Director Nurul Islam.

The cases allege that Hasina, while serving as prime minister, misused her authority to conceal her family’s real estate holdings in Dhaka.

Despite owning several properties in the city, including flats and houses registered under the names of her children, sister, niece, and nephew, she allegedly failed to disclose this in official affidavits.

She is accused of unlawfully securing a highly valuable plot in the East Purbachal New Town Project’s diplomatic zone—Plot 009 on 203 Road in Sector 27—using her position of power to influence Rajuk officials.
