Dipu, Menon, Inu and Palak shown arrested in fresh cases

Four former ministers and state ministers of the ousted Awami League government have been shown arrested in fresh cases.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s (CMM) Court sent them to jail after showing them arrested in the cases on Monday (December 2) morning.

They are former State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former Social Welfare Minister Dr Dipu, former Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu and former Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon.

Inu and Menon were shown arrested in a case filed with Hatirjheel Police Station over the attack on Khaleda Zia’s motorcade. Moni and Palak were shown arrested in a murder case under Shahbagh Police Station and Inu in a murder case under Rampura Police Station.

The state lawyer said that they had direct and indirect support in the July-August genocide. Earlier, they were placed on remand in different cases.
