A coalition of student organizations has announced a student solidarity week, starting Tuesday, to counter the resurgence of "Awami fascism" and address ongoing unrest in educational institutions.

Hasnat Abdullah, one of the key conveners of the movement, announced the initiative on Monday night following an emergency meeting in Banglamotor, Dhaka, with leaders of other student organizations.

The program will involve various “anti-fascist” student organizations and will run for one week, as declared by the movement.

Leaders from 19 student organizations participated in the discussion aimed at addressing inter-institutional conflicts across the country.

"With a unanimous agreement among anti-fascist student organizations, we have declared a national student solidarity week for the next seven days. During this period, student groups will visit institutions and convey messages of unity and solidarity,” Hasnat said.

“Our united stance against the Awami League’s rehabilitation efforts is imperative, and this program will strengthen institutional bonds."

Key attendees of the meeting included representatives from various student organizations such as Chhatra Dal Organizing Secretary Amanullah Aman, Chhatra Shibir Dhaka University unit Secretary SM Farhad and Chhatra Odhikar Parishad President Md Bin Yamin Mollah.
