Miscreants vandalize hospital, BNP office in Jamalpur

Miscreants vandalized the MA Rashid Hospital and the district BNP office in Jamalpur late Thursday night.
Locals report that the attackers, traveling in a microbus and several motorcycles, entered MA Rashid Hospital, carrying firearms. They vandalized various areas of the hospital, including the security guard's room, reception desk, counters, pharmacy, emergency department, and imaging rooms.
Four people were injured, and patients, doctors, nurses, and staff were left in a state of panic.
The attackers also threatened everyone by openly displaying weapons.
After the hospital attack, they moved to the district BNP office, where they damaged the premises, displayed firearms, and used abusive language, targeting BNP leaders.
Following the incident, police, members of the Bangladesh Army, and district BNP leaders visited the site.
Advocate Shah Md Wares Ali Mamun, the central BNP Assistant Organizing Secretary and dstrict unit BNP General Secretary, condemned the attacks.
He said: "They attacked MA Rashid Hospital without cause, and then proceeded to the BNP office, displaying weapons and using derogatory language against BNP leaders. We demand the arrest of the attackers and recovery of the weapons from the CCTV footage. If this is not done, the people of Jamalpur will take stronger action.”
Jamalpur Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Faisal Md Atique said a case is being filed and efforts are underway to identify and arrest the attackers using CCTV footage.
