Babar finally walks out of prison

Former BNP state minister Lutfozzaman Babar has been released from prison after more than 17 years.
He walked out of Dhaka Central Jail shortly after 2pm today (January 16) as hundreds of his supporters thronged the jail gate to greet him.
Babar, wearing a white skull cap, exchanged greetings with the people and shook hands with them.
The apex court acquitted him from the 10-truck arms haul case on January 14, clearing the way for his release.
