Khaleda is happy and smiling: Zahid

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, undergoing treatment at London Clinic in the UK, is seeing gradual improvement in her physical condition.

“She is spending time with her family. She is very happy and smiling. Please pray for her,” Khaleda’s personal doctor Professor AZM Zahid Hossain told a journalist.

He said doctors are intensively monitoring her treatment at the London Clinic.

BNP’s UK unit President MA Malek said the party chief was doing well. BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and his family members are always with her.

Khaleda was admitted to London Clinic on January 8 for advanced medical treatment. In this specialised hospital, she is undergoing treatment under the supervision of specialist Professor Dr Patrick Kennedy.

The former prime minister arrived in London in a special air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar from Dhaka via Qatar on January 8.

She was taken directly to the London Clinic from the airport.
