10 more deaths in dengue in one day, 990 detected

From Monday 8 AM to Tuesday 8 AM, 10 more people lost their lives to dengue, and 990 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. This data was shared in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Department of Health on Tuesday.

New Admissions by Division:

  • Barisal Division: 81 patients
  • Chittagong Division: 103 patients
  • Dhaka Division (outside City Corporation): 234 patients
  • Dhaka North City: 183 patients
  • Dhaka South City: 143 patients
  • Khulna Division: 146 patients
  • Rajshahi Division: 59 patients
  • Mymensingh Division: 38 patients
  • Rangpur Division: 2 patients
  • Sylhet Division: 1 patient

In the same period, 986 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals across the country. This year, a total of 84,722 patients have recovered from the virus after receiving treatment.

Total Cases and Deaths:
Since January 2024, 88,715 people have been hospitalized due to dengue, with 471 deaths reported so far. In comparison, last year saw 321,179 hospital admissions and 1,705 deaths due to dengue, marking a significant toll on public health.

The health department continues to urge caution as dengue cases remain a major concern throughout the country.
