Indian national detained at Jhenaidah border

An Indian citizen has been arrested by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at the Moheshpur border in Jhenaidah.
The arrest took place at 7am on Friday from the Chapatla village of Swaruppur union in the upazila.
The arrested individual, Supradip Halder, 21, is the son of Subhash Halder from Bagda village in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, India.
Colonel Shah Md Azizus Shahid, the commander of 58 BGB, confirmed the incident.
He said: "Based on secret information, we learned that several Indian citizens were attempting to cross into Bangladesh without a passport and then re-enter India. At that time, we were stationed in the border area of Swaruppur union's Chapatla village. We were able to apprehend the Indian citizen while he was hiding in Ruhul Amin's rose garden."
The arrested Indian citizen has been handed over to the Moheshpur police station, according to the BGB officer.
