Shamsuzzaman: Democracy is what the people approve of

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has said democracy cannot flourish through the union of anti-independence forces and fascist collaborators, remarking that regardless of polarization, whatever the people approve of will be considered democracy.

He made these remarks on Thursday morning while speaking to journalists on the premises of the Thakurgaon Shilpakala Academy before attending an organizational meeting organized by Thakurgaon BNP.

Shamsuzzaman said the BNP has been fighting against fascism for 17 years, striving for democracy, independence, and the rights of the people.

The BNP leader added: “We want to return Bangladesh to a democratic course and restore people's rights. This ongoing organizational campaign across the country aims to strengthen the BNP in this struggle.”
