Home Adviser: Too early to confirm sabotage behind Secretariat fire

Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said it is too early to determine whether the fire at Building 7 of the Bangladesh Secretariat was part of a conspiracy or an act of sabotage.
Speaking to reporters during a visit to the fire site on Thursday morning, Jahangir said the cause of the fire could only be confirmed after a thorough investigation.
He also mentioned that the formation of a high-powered investigation committee had been ordered to probe the incident.
The adviser said the blaze had broken out on the fifth floor before spreading upwards, but it had not descended to the lower floors.
