The northern town of Tetulia recorded the country’s lowest temperature today at 9.5 degrees Celsius.
The temperature was recorded at 6am today Wednesday (January 15). Earlier on Tuesday (January 14), the lowest temperature of the country was also recorded in Tetulia at 9.6 degrees Celsius.
Night temperatures may fall slightly over the country in the next two days, said the Met office.
Meanwhile, the daily activities of people are being disrupted due to the cold.
Local administration and voluntary organisations have taken initiatives to distribute blankets among the cold-hit people.
According to meteorologists, the temperature may fall further in the next few days. Local residents have been urged to take necessary precautions.
