Heartfelt tributes flow as thousands flock to National Martyrs' Memorial

Massive crowds gathered at the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar to celebrate Victory Day and honor the martyrs of the Liberation War.
People of all ages, from children to the elderly, waved red and green flags as they converged on the memorial grounds.
Thousands of processions marched in, paying heartfelt tribute to the martyrs. Their vibrant slogans echoed throughout the area, adding to the spirit of the day.
Despite the jubilant celebrations, attendees remained deeply respectful, expressing profound love and gratitude for the three million lives lost during the Liberation War.
Many joined in singing patriotic songs, while others carried colorful flowers to lay at the memorial.
Some stood in solemn silence after placing their floral tributes, reflecting on the sacrifices of the martyrs.
Earlier in the morning, at 6:30am, President Muhammed Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus paid their respects by laying wreaths at the memorial.
A ceremonial guard from the armed forces offered a state salute, and the somber notes of a bugle played in tribute.
The president and chief adviser observed a moment of silence to honour the fallen.
At 7:30am, the memorial gates were opened to the public. People from all walks of life began streaming in, turning the solemn grounds into a sea of unity and patriotism.
