Chhatra Dal observes 46th founding anniversary

Wednesday marks the 46th founding anniversary of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). 

On this day in 1979, the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, a political student organization rooted in the ideals of Bangladeshi nationalism, was founded.

Over the years, it has grown into one of the largest student organizations in the country.

To commemorate the day, a blood donation program was organized at noon in front of the Engineers Institution auditorium.

BNP’s Student Affairs Secretary, Rakibul Islam Bakul, attended the event as the chief guest. 

At 2pm, a discussion meeting was held at the same venue, where BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman joined virtually as the chief guest.

Additionally, BNP’s Secretary General, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, attended as a special guest.

Meanwhile, to mark the occasion, the Dhaka University unit of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal is set to inaugurate the “Inter-Hall Badminton Tournament 2025” this evening at the university's Physical Education Center Indoor Hall.

Rakibul Islam Bakul, BNP's National Executive Committee Student Affairs Secretary, is expected to attend the event as the chief guest.
