Prof Yunus to deliver address at Al-Azhar University on Thursday

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to deliver a speech at Al-Azhar University in Cairo on Thursday. 

Deputy Press Secretary of the Chief Adviser, Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, confirmed the news, saying, "The Chief Adviser is scheduled to deliver an address at Al-Azhar University on December 19."

The invitation was extended to Professor Yunus by Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al Sharif, Ahmed Eltayeb, during a meeting at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan, on November 12, 2024.

Professor Yunus will depart for Egypt on Tuesday for a two-day state visit, during which he will attend the D-8 Summit scheduled for December 19. 

On the sidelines of the D-8 Summit, the Chief Adviser is expected to hold bilateral meetings with the heads of government from several D-8 member states, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to the Deputy Press Secretary.
