Saad faction spokesperson Muaz Bin Noor remanded for three days

A Gazipur court has placed Muaz Bin Noor, a spokesperson for the Tabligh Jamaat's Maulana Saad Kandhalvi faction, on three days remand in connection with the killing of three worshippers during clashes at the Tongi Bishwa Ijtema ground this week.
Gazipur Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court gave this order on Sunday afternoon, said Habibullah Raihan, media coordinator of Shuraye Nezam (Zubair faction).
Tongi West police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Iskandar Habib confirmed the information.
Muaz Bin Noor is listed as accused No. 5 in the case, he said, adding that senior officials from the Gazipur Metropolitan Police were involved in the operation to arrest him.
On Thursday evening, Maulana SM Alam Hossain filed the case at Tongi West police station.
The case named 29 individuals and also included several hundred unidentified people as accused.
The fatal clashes erupted repeatedly between supporters of Maulana Zubair and Maulana Saad over the control of Tongi's Bishwa Ijtema grounds early on Wednesday.
