Khaleda Zia to meet standing committee leaders on Sunday night

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to meet with the party's standing committee members on Sunday.

According to party sources, she will hold a meeting with the leaders of the party's highest policy-making forum before departing for London for medical treatment.

BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed that the party’s senior leaders will meet Khaleda Zia at her residence, Firoza, in Gulshan around 8pm

Khaleda Zia is set to leave Dhaka for London at 10pm on Tuesday.

During this meeting, she will provide guidance to party leaders ahead of her upcoming visit.

From London, she is scheduled to travel to the United States for advanced treatment.

On her return, she may perform Umrah.

BNP sources said that Khaleda Zia will first be taken to London via a long-haul specialized air ambulance for her treatment.

A list of at least 16 people has already been submitted to the Foreign Ministry as part of her entourage.

She had previously traveled to London on July 16, 2017, and returned to Bangladesh on October 18 of the same year, despite having warrants in multiple cases.

Following the final decision for her trip abroad, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman met with the BNP chairperson on Thursday.
