Adviser: Educating people with disabilities will drive national progress

Religious Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain on Tuesday said that our perspective on people with disabilities must change.
“They are not a burden on society. If people with disabilities are provided with religious and vocational education, the country will progress,” the adviser said
He made these remarks during the inaugural speech at an educational seminar organized by Jamia Shaikh Zamiroddin Al-Islami Madrasa in the Kawkhali upazila of Rangamati
The religious adviser emphasized the immense importance of religious and vocational education for people with disabilities.
Such education will particularly assist them in becoming self-reliant.
They will be able to live dignified lives within society.
Additionally, through this education, their morale, skills, and ethics will be developed.
The adviser expressed satisfaction with the madrasa's efforts to teach blind students the holy Quran, Bengali, Mathematics, English, and Social Studies using the Braille system.
