Inquilab Mancha: July uprising activists being targeted for killings

Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, spokesperson for Inquilab Mancha, has accused the Awami League of "secret killings," claiming private university students involved in the July uprising are being targeted, with five recently killed and several injured.

The statement came on Thursday during a press conference at Dhaka University’s Madhur Canteen.

Hadi said if those responsible for the murders are not arrested within 48 hours, a protest march will proceed from the National Museum at Shahbagh to the chief adviser’s residence, the State Guest House Jamuna.

During the press conference, Hadi said death threats are being issued daily from unknown numbers, claiming that the Awami League is orchestrating secret killings. "We see no response from the government.”

“Efforts are underway to rehabilitate the Awami League instead of ensuring the safety of students. Every political party is complicit in this rehabilitation, while the Awami League is directly involved in these secret killings.”

Hadi also demanded an immediate ban of the Awami League, stating: “If Chhatra League can be banned, why not their parent organization, the Awami League?"
