Cold wave blankets Panchagarh

A mild cold wave is sweeping over the Panchagarh district and it may continue as moderate to dense fog is likely to occur over the country, says Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
"Moderate to dense fog is likely to occur over the country from midnight today to tomorrow morning and it may continue at some places till noon," said the Met office on Friday (January 4).
It said air navigation, inland river transport and road communication may be disrupted temporarily due to dense fog.
A mild cold wave is sweeping over the Panchagarh district and it may continue while the BMD said the seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to Northeast Bay.
Weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.
Meanwhile, night temperature may rise slightly and day temperature may rise by (1-2) °C over the country.
Due to dense fog, cold feelings may persist at places over the country during the daytime.
The BMD recorded the country's lowest temperature on Friday, which was recorded at 9.4 degrees Celsius in Tetulia of Rangpur Division, while the maximum temperature recorded was 28.2 degrees Celsius this morning.
On the weather outlook for the next five days, the BMD said light rain or drizzle may occur over the country's northern part at the beginning of this period while night and dry temperatures may fall at the end of this period.
