EC Masud: Election to be held in December or January

Election commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud said in Pathuakhali that the next general elections will be held either in December or next January.

The Election Commissioner Mahsud also said that they are working to ensure free, fair, and acceptable elections.

He said these things at a view-sharing meeting at the Patuakhali District Election Office on Thursday at midday on the occasion of Voter List Update 2025.

The conference was chaired by Khan Abi Shahanur Khan, the deputy commissioner for Patuakhali.

According to him, efforts are underway nationwide to update the voter list.

According to the election commissioner, the next general election will take place on schedule and with paper ballots.

Throughout the process, the commissioner asked for assistance from all parties involved. 

The EC further said that 35,000 data collectors are working across the country to update the voter list and that those who are collecting information in this regard should show more responsibility. 

Election officers of all upazilas of Patuakhali district, election-related persons and media personnel were present in the meeting.
