Turkish envoy calls on commerce adviser

Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Ramis Sen on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin at his office at the Bangladesh Secretariat in the capital.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral issues related to trade and commerce as well as next month’s visit of the Turkish trade minister to Bangladesh, said a Commerce Ministry press release.

Highlighting the long-standing brotherly relations between the two countries, Bashir said that the upcoming visit of the Turkish minister is significant and that Bangladesh would undertake plan to make the visit successful.

He said that Bangladesh would take efforts to avail highest possible trade facilities from Turkiye.

Mentioning that Turkiye wants to further deepen the bilateral relations with Bangladesh, Ramis said time has come to strengthen relations between the two countries by creating more scopes in trade and commerce sectors.

He said that the upcoming visit of the Turkish trade minister will be an example of Turkiye's solidarity with the interim government and the people of Bangladesh.

In addition, this visit will be a strong step to explore the commercial potential of the two countries, he added.

Commerce Ministry Additional Secretary (FTA) Aysha Akther was present on the occasion.
