President to host Christmas reception on Wednesday

President Mohammed Shahabuddin will host a reception for the Christian community at Bangabhaban in Dhaka at noon on Wednesday on the occasion of Christmas.

“The reception program for the Christian community members will begin at noon tomorrow in the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban,” said President's Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam on Tuesday.

The head of state is scheduled to exchange greetings with the Christian community members on the occasion.

"As many as 500 guests have been invited to the presidential palace", he added. 

The president’s wife Dr Rebeka Sultana, Religious Affairs Adviser Abul Fayez Muhammad Khalid Hossain, Bishop Bejoy Nicephorus D’Cruze, secretaries concerned, some envoys and representatives from different foreign missions, distinguished persons of the Christian community and religious leaders are expected to attend the reception.

He will also address the Christian community through the media at 12:10pm.

The president is scheduled to cut a cake and take part in the photo session on the occasion. 

Later, the guests and others will be entertained with the traditional snacks in the Bangabhaban.
